Le Rendez Vous, established since 2015, is the perfect showcase of our local craftmanship. The two 100% lokal retail stores will make you experience shopping like never before. Each aisle and shelf will make you deep dive into our local artisans’ creativity. Vibrant local colors, warm patterns, and 100% Mauritian vibes will make your head turn. Each item is beautiful, unique, and sculpted with attention and devotion.

Marine, the founder of Le Rendez Vous, is passionate about making local brands and artisans known. What initially started as one store with 20 partners soon became two stores with over 70 partners. Soon enough the team needed technology to accompany them and boost their growth even further.

The Challenges

The business was growing and their current POS started to become a limiting factor. It was on premise, required manual interventions for backups, minimal flexibility in reporting, complex and clunky functionality, limitations in item configurations and stock management limitations for multiple locations to name a few. More specifically the reasons they set out to source new technology were;

#1 To save time

The team had numerous manual and repetitive task which was extremely time-consuming and prone to human errors. 


#2 To be able to access to data and make better decisions.

Like most businesses, you need to be able to adjust as quickly as possible to the surrounding environment. The old POS provided minimal insight with its limited reporting functionality and no access to raw data that could be manipulated outside of the system for a better decision making process. 

#3 To streamline the process with their partners.

Partners were heavily dependent on the staff to provide them information and insight to the sales progress and stock levels. Many times these had to be calculated manually to provide the snapshot, as well as manually going through a stock count of the partners products.

The Solutions

The team wanted a solution that could easily assist them at different steps of their process. With this in mind, ServiQual team integrated two solutions: an online POS & Automation software.

#1 Online POS 

The first technology used by SerivQual was an online POS. This is a cloud-based retail platform requiring minimum hardware (laptop, tablet and barcode scanner)

Once implemented the POS will allow for receiving stock from the partners in an organized manner, allow for the bar coding of all products to minimize errors and streamline stock control process and register sales at the cash register.

It allows for scalability and access anywhere in a secured method.

#2 Automation Software

The automation allows partners to independently query their current stock by simply sending a mail. In the background, the mail server and the online POS connect with each other to query the stock and send it back to the partner via email without any human intervention from the team.

With this new information in hand, the partner can plan their future product delivery. Further to which they reply to the email with their upcoming stock and this automatically generates the necessary information in the online POS.

Receiving stock with the new system

When the team accepts the item receipt in the system on delivery day, the online POS prints out the label/tags which the team attach directly to the products.

The labeled products allow for easy access to stock information, size and colour availability at the scan of a bar code. It also reduces the amount of errors at the time of recording a sale of a product and provides accurate stock levels to with granular details.

The Results

The integrated system has proven to be beneficial for the team, their partners, and clients :

#1 Time Gain

Most of the repetitive and manual tasks are either automated or made easier: Product labeling, Inventory, and Stock Count. 

#2 Increase in sales

The partners can now easily and independently know their current stock levels. This rapid access to information enables them to restock when needed. Thus making products more readily available for sale.

#3 E-Commerce

The system enabled Le Rendez Vous to launch its e-commerce platform with a real-time stock.

#4 Reporting

The team have access to valuable statistic for all stores easily via the built in dashboards. Monthly reporting has been reduced from multiple days to barely a few minutes.

#5 Digital receipt

All receipt is sent to customers via email thus making the new solution eco-friendly and easier for the customer in case they misplaced their receipt.

#6 Scalability

Retail shops have sales cycles throughout the year, the needs in these cycles differ greatly. The new system is scalable, the team can add in new cash registers, new shops, and even new cashiers with a few clicks to increase the throughput and reduce client waiting time – happier clients.

We had a first initial meeting with the team of Le Rendez Vous to better understand their needs. They shared with us their pain points and what they wish to achieve.

Explore

After having gathered all the key information. Our experts went on to explore and look into options. They came up with two potential product candidates followed by an extensive assessment of functionality to assess the best fit.

Brainstorm

Our team started prototyping with the POS. The solution worked perfectly for the creation of item recieprts, processing of sales, and providing a holistic view of inventory in a multi outlet environment. However, we soon realized that to provide real-time stock to partners we would need to look beyond the POS system. This is when we developed an easy-to-use way for partners to obtain their inventory via an email sent to a mailbox using automation.

Implement

The implementation was in two phases: 

First set up of the online POS  in outlets and connect it to their e-commerce website as well as their accounting systems.

The second phase was the implementation was finding more efficiencies and performance with the use of automation and connecting the mailboxes with the online POS.
